The essence of water and the timeless spirit of the Côte d’Azur

Once again, we had the privilege of collaborating with Binghatti on the unveiling of their latest architectural marvel in Dubai: Aquarise.

Building on our experience from previous promotional films like Mercedes Residences and Skyrise, we set out to push the envelope even further—challenging ourselves to explore new creative heights in the fusion of architectural visualization with the aesthetics of luxury and fashion-inspired cinema.

The story

Aquarise calls for a cinematic exploration designed to showcase this stunning new building. The key elements to emphasize are water, elegance, fluiditiy, the slowing of time, sunshine, and reaching for the sky - a true dream in blue. 

Rising from the depths of an underwater dreamscape, Aquarise reveals its grandeur as it comes to life. What starts as a conceptual vision takes shape, becoming a stunning reality.

The process

As always, our process included weeks of research, storyboarding, previsualization, and 3D experimentation.

We’re increasingly incorporating compositing and VFX to enhance our work. For this film, we also brought in wire rigs and stunt specialists to create the convincing illusion of being underwater and rising to the surface.

Behind the scenes

Many different teams contributed to the conception and realization.

Arqui9 then collaborated with a professional crew of directors of photography and videographers to capture the live-action footage. This was followed by an extensive process of 3D rendering and compositing to seamlessly integrate the live footage.

The Essence

Aquarise presented an intriguing challenge: though not a waterfront property, its name evokes themes of flow, fluidity, renewal, abundance, elixirs, and even a touch of nostalgia—calling to mind the essence of water and the timeless spirit of the Côte d’Azur.​​​​​​​
